In May of 1980, Mt St Helens erupted triggered by a magnitude<\/a> 5.1 earthquake and it's possible that Mt Hood will erupt in our lifetimes. The USGS puts the probability of eruptions in the next 30-50 years between 1 in 15 to 1 in 30.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n
